TAPESTRY FOR BEGINNERS with Weaving Hand

In this workshop participants will learn from start to finish, how to create small tapestry using a variety of techniques. You will understand how to dress a frame loom, start your weaving and how to finish off the tapestry. Workshop participants will learn how to create vertical stripes, tapestry blocks and how to interlock multiple wefts. All participants will go home with a fantastic mini tapestry!

 

All materials are included and participants have the option of purchasing a peg loom kit.

Bio:
Katherine Matos is Weaving Hand's Studio Manager and Teaching Artist. She graduated from Pratt institute with her degree in Art and Design Education and her calling is to teach and create! She now teaches art to children, as well as weaving to creative individuals of all ages at Weaving Hand.

Cynthia Albert is Weaving Hand's Founder and Director as well as a Teaching Artist. A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology, she studied textile surface design with a specialization in weaving. Her personal work as a weaver and fiber artist is to bridge traditional and contemporary forms of weaving.
