Welcome to collage class, where all of your wildest art dreams may come true. Collage is a great way to visualize your dreams and get the creative juices flowing. Artist and curator C. Finley carefully curates beautiful materials in order for you to follow your creativity and discover how this fun and quick artistic practice can unlock unique possibilities.

I SING THE BODY ELECTRIC is a poem from Walt Whitman, an episode of the Twilight Zone, a science fiction anthology, a podcast, and of course a song from the film FAME. In this collage class we will be exploring the BODY ELECTRIC theme in order to create mind-blowing collage.


Cost: $25 (materials are provided (scissors/glue/paper and carefully combed through collage pages)

 

 

Teacher Bio:

C. Finley is a stylistically promiscuous artist who lives and works in both Rome and New York City. Her work incorporates interests in color theory, performance, women’s work, and the environment. Previous projects include the 2014 Whitney Houston Biennial: I’m Every Woman, and Wallpapered Dumpsters which has been featured in the New York Times, La Republica, the Huffington Post, NYLON Magazine, Dazed, and the BBC World Service, Brazil. Finley has shown work internationally with exhibitions at Galerie Ernst Hilger, Vienna; Robert Fontaine Gallery, Miami; Scope Miami and New York; FDA Projects, Rome; High Energy Constructs and Salon Oblique, Los Angeles; and the Dumba Collective, New York. As a member of the artist collective HowDoYouSayYamInAfrican?, she participated in the 2014 Whitney Biennial. Finley received her BFA from the Pratt Institute, New York and her MFA from California State University, Long Beach.
